Five Day Notice for work to be carried out on a Lime tree at 72 Clarence Road, Wood Green, N22 8PW. The tree is an old pollard and has extensive decay to the main stem, at approximately 3m. The decay pocket is at least 50cm deep, we reduced the height by approximately 2m last year, however there is still 3-4m of stem above the decay pocket, which on inspection this year has worsened. There is a risk of failure of the tree at the decay pocket, so we are proposing to reduce the height by a further 2m into the main fork in order to remove some weight and try and preserve the tree for as long as possible.

FIVE DAY NOTICE My client at 72 Clarence Road, Wood Green, N22 8PW, has a Lime tree in her back garden which backs on to Finsbury Cottages. The tree is an existing pollard of approximately 8m, the main leader has severe decay, extending all the way down the stem and into the main crown break at approximately 3m. This main leader is in imminent danger of falling so needs to be removed. Due to the extent of the decay into the main crown break, we are planning to reduce the two remaining stems by approximately 2m below the current pollard points in order to maintain the tree as a low pollard for as long as possible. Please see photograph attached. Please accept this email as a 5 day notice to carry out this work.
