UK House Price Map: 30 years of sold prices by district

Every district on this map is a UK postcode district coloured by what homes actually sold for. Drag the year slider or press play to watch prices move through history from 1995 to 2025, switch between median, average and sales volume, adjust for inflation, or compare any two years side by side. Hover a district for detail, click through for the full local breakdown across 2,700+ postcode districts.

About this data

Prices are aggregated from HM Land Registry Price Paid records (residential sales, 1995 onwards) to postcode-district level. Median is the typical sale price and is far less skewed by a handful of very expensive homes than the average. Real-terms figures are adjusted for inflation using the ONS CPIH index and expressed in the latest year’s money. The most recent year is partial as sales take time to register. District boundaries are approximate (ODbL, derived from ONS / OS OpenData). This tool is for general information, not valuation advice.
