About this data
Prices are aggregated from HM Land Registry Price Paid records (residential sales, 1995 onwards) to postcode-district level. Median is the typical sale price and is far less skewed by a handful of very expensive homes than the average. Real-terms figures are adjusted for inflation using the ONS CPIH index and expressed in the latest year’s money. The most recent year is partial as sales take time to register. District boundaries are approximate (ODbL, derived from ONS / OS OpenData). This tool is for general information, not valuation advice.
