Red Lake, Telford, falls within the postal district TF 1 in the county of Shropshire, England. The locality is part of the town of Telford, which is the main administrative centre for the Telford and Wrekin Council. Telford lies close to the county’s eastern boundary and near the River Severn. The town is surrounded by the Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is adjacent to the notable hill The Wrekin. To the south of Telford is the Ironbridge Gorge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the area around the gorge is internationally recognised as the “Birthplace of Industry” due to its development during the Industrial Revolution on the Shropshire Coalfield.
