- May 2018Tree WorksAdvertisingIn report
Mimosa Tree in back garden, next to the boundary fence with my neighbour's property and has reached a height of near 30 feet and an approximate all round width of 5-6 feet at its broadest. It is very close to the back extension of both properties, giving concern if any branches should snap and fall in wind. I would like to arrange for the tree to be trimmed and I have consulted a tree surgeon who has advised that approximately 6-7 feet be removed from the vertical branches in height and the longer horizontals approximately 3 feet, as an initial pruning and to review and trim in approximately 3-4 year. A wide long lower branch did snap off in this winter's strong winds, falling into my garden, and fortunately did not cause any harm to person or property. This has prompted me to investigate and request remedial pruning to be reviewed in 3-4 year periods to keep it in check. I was not aware that this tree would reach such a size. It was advertised as reaching no more that 10 feet. If it is left unchecked I am concerned that it in continuing to grow in height and breadth that we will be faced with unnecessary damage or harm to persons or property.
