The line of trees on the eastern boundary of my property are subject to a group designation Tree Preservation Order (TPO); Specifically, group G1 consisting of 4 Sweet Chestnut, 3 Oak and 1 Birch under TPO No.6 of 1995. The TPO group extends just beyond the boundaries of my garden. Twin stemmed sweet chestnut (T1) fell the southern stem because it is nearly dead, the northern stem is exhibiting dieback at the top of the stem and I wish this stem to be reduced to two thirds of its current height (from approximately 18m to 12m). The remainder of the trees to the south reach 20m or more in height. All are quite tall and etiolated (drawn up) in form and appear to have grown up together - as such, they enjoy the companion shelter provided by each other and for management purposes are best considered as if they were a single tree, namely : Sweet Chestnut (T2), Oak (T3), Oak (T4), Oak (T5), Birch (T6), twin stemmed sweet chestnut (T7) and twin stemmed sweet chestnut (T8) - I wish the stems of all these trees to be reduced to two thirds of their current height approximately 14m from 20m with an even less proportional width reduction. (As advice given by tree officer).
