Sandplace, also known by its Cornish name Tewesva, is a small village in the parish of Morval, situated two miles north of the town of Looe in Cornwall, Great Britain. The settlement lies within the PL 13 postal district. Historically, the area was served by the Liskeard and Looe Railway, which opened its first section in 1860. This railway was originally built by the Liskeard and Looe Union Canal Company, whose canal had earlier been constructed to convey sea sand and lime up the valley of the East Looe River. The purpose of the canal was to improve agricultural land in the valley. The railway later extended to Liskeard station on the Cornish Main Line railway. These transport links reflect the village’s historical connection to regional development and agriculture.
