    Tree WorksTrees
    Outcome in report

T1 Elm on southern edge of group, decay at base, and large wound, cut to 5m to retain as habitat but reduce risk of failure. T2 Ash, tree has been heavily topped previously, now showing dieback in upper crown and extensive decay in upper crown, evidence of previous failure and subsequent wounding, neighbouring tree has recently failed across public highway partly due to extensive decay from perenniporia fraxinea. Prune this stem to 3m to allow to degrade safely and provide habitat. T3 Elm, has cavity @ 1m height on N. side of stem 0.3m depth. Cavity is at a point of union with a secondary leader which is within striking distance of footpath. Prune this tree to form a lower crown at 8m. T4 Ash, has large cavity at 0.5m height on main stem on East side, opening is 10cm x 40cm, width is 50cm and depth of 80cm and height of 20cm. Crown bias is to East over road, propose to cut this tree to 1.5m to allow to degrade safely as habitat. T5 Ash, tree has no obvious issues other than a crown bias over footpath to the West, but given that the other trees in this group will be reduced in size i feel it prudent that this tree is reduced in height to reduce the chance of breakout due to increased wind loading. Current height is 20m with crown spread on West side of 5.5m, proposed reduction to height of 6m and spread by 2.5m,(West side.)

    Outcome in report

T1 - Ash - Reduce back growth over adjacent footpath by 1.5 metres. Reduce height by 1.5metres as this tree has a heavy bias with 90% of the canopy growing on the west side of the trunk being that it also has a lean to the west
