On or near the N-E boundary of our property, there is one holly tree which belongs to us. This tree is very overgrown and we wish to have it trimmed back 2 metres horizontally and 3 metres vertically, as it encroaches on the usable part of our garden and the light available. This holly tree which belongs to us was described as dangerous (without us asking) by a neighbour's tree surgeon, who is now out of business. The latter neighbours , whom I have consulted about it, and they have no objection to the part overhanging their garden being trimmed 2 metres horizontally. We have also been advised by our tree surgeon to request that the canopy of this holly be raised, and we ask for this to be allowed at 3 metres. Nearby are three holly trees overhanging from the garden of . These trees are encroaching on the usable space in our garden and blocking light. I have consulted the owners, who would have no objection to them being trimmed back horizontally about 2 metres to the boundary, and about 3 metres vertically. There are two very large ash trees on our property which have become very overgrown and have shed some quite heavy branches in the last two years. At the moment we cannot allow visitors in the vicinity of these two trees, such is the perceived danger of unpredictable falling debris. Our tree surgeon, Darren from Bright Brothers, has suggested that we ask to be allowed to crown lift these two ash trees (we would estimate about 3 metres) to let the light in, and to crown thin these two ash trees (we would suggest by 20%), and for dead wood overall to be removed to stop falling debris. There is also a very large and probably ancient yew tree belonging to The Old Stables which is growing on a slant towards our property and its foliage covers a substantial part of our garden. We would like to trim back the overhang by two metres horizontally and 3 metres vertically.. Again, I have checked with the owner (Mr & Mrs Harding whose details are above) that they have no objection to our trimming it back to the extent requested to improve light and to restore to us the use of this part of our garden. Overall, none of the proposed work would affect the visual impact on any neighbours of the substantial woodland to the N-E of our property, but would allow us to regain fuller use of our garden, and to have more light and avoid the fear of falling debris.
