Goldthorn Park is a suburb of Wolverhampton, West Midlands. It is situated 1½ miles south of the city centre within the Blakenhall ward. It mostly consists of residential streets and local amenities typical of a suburban setting. The area is part of the Wolverhampton city council jurisdiction and benefits from the services and infrastructure of the larger city. Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club, commonly referred to as Wolves, is a professional football club based in Wolverhampton, England. The club competes in the Premier League, the top tier of English football, and has played at Molineux Stadium since moving from Dudley Road in 1889. The club’s traditional kit features old gold shirts and socks with black shorts, and since 1979 the kit has also included the club’s “wolf’s head” logo. Long‑standing rivalries exist with other clubs from the West Midlands, including Aston Villa, Stoke City, and Birmingham City, but the main one is the Black Country derby contested with West Bromwich Albion. Since 2016, the club has been owned by the Chinese conglomerate Fosun International.
