Rivington is a village and civil parish in the Borough of Chorley, Lancashire, England, covering 2,538 acres. It lies about 6 miles southeast of Chorley and 8½ miles northwest of Bolton. The area is predominantly rural, featuring agricultural grazing land, moorland and hill summits including Rivington Pike and Winter Hill within the West Pennine Moors. Rivington hosts a thriving tourist industry centred on reservoirs built to supply Liverpool in the Victorian era and Lever Park, a public park established by William Lever at the turn of the 20th century, which includes converted barns, a replica of Liverpool Castle and open countryside. The local school, Rivington and Blackrod High School, serves the community. According to the 2011 Census, the village had a population of 109.
