I believe the trees to be Ash. There are 3 or 4 that I would like to prune. There are a number of branches overhanging our garden and I'm concerned that they may cause harm to our child and dog and possibly our summer house. We would also like to reduce the height of said trees by 2m mand the overhang by 2-3m because once they are pruned on the sides we believe they will become "top heavy" and given our location and the winds we sometimes get they could become unsafe. They are also causing a large amount of shading to our garden, which is to the detriment of some other shrubs.
