Deeping Gate is a village and civil parish in Cambridgeshire, England, lying on the River Welland. Traditionally part of the Soke of Peterborough and geographically considered part of Northamptonshire, it now falls within the City of Peterborough unitary authority area of Cambridgeshire. The settlement has a very small population, with the 2011 Census recording 258 males and 257 females. The community has no major services such as a post office or chapel; residents depend on nearby Market Deeping, one and a quarter miles (2.0 km) north of the river in Lincolnshire, for economic and market services. The most prominent property in the village is Fairfax House, home to the Fairfax Family, and the area is noted as the birthplace of Renaissance composer Robert Fayrfax (Fairfax).
