Planning history
- Feb 2025Tree WorksTreesIn report
Trees involved: 1xcherry tree, 1xpurple leaved plum, 1xNorway maple, and hedge made of Leyland Cypress. Work: Removal of Leyland cypresss and fell trees to ground and grind out stumps. Cherry tree is individual tree on its own on the plan. The purple leaved plum and Norway maple the two smaller trees next to the oil tank. All trees can be easily identified on the sketch plan - and are along the property boundary at the end of the garden. Reasons for removing the trees: 1) We wish to secure the boundary of our property. The trees make a patchy boundary to property, which is not secure. We plan to secure the boundary with a fence, for the safety of our young child and dog (especially given connected access to main road). 2) We are concerned about the location of the tress to oil tank and neighbours -The two smaller trees (x1 purple leaved plum and x1 norway maple) are in very close proximity to each other, not leaving sufficient room as they continue to grow. -The two smaller trees (x1 purple leaved plum and x1 norway maple) are in very close proximity to oil tank, there is not sufficient room as they continue to grow. - The two smaller trees (x1 purple leaved plum and x1 norway maple) overhang the neighbors property, in particular their shed. 3) We are concerned about the safety of the trees -We are concerned about the amount of movement the trees show in high winds. This is particularly true for the plum and maple tree which are tall and thin, and are very close to the oil tank. -The cherry tree splits into two main branches/trunks at around chest height. The tree surgeons we spoke to about carrying out the work have pointed out a weak union to us at this point (see provided photo).
