I wish to prune a Maple tree that's at the bottom end of my private garden. In the recent storm a branch feel into the rear neighbours garden onto his garden office. He has asked me to make it safe. It's currently very thin an tall. There is also signs of disease in it. We want to keep it but to take some height of it to make it more stable and to make it less likely to fall down in future storms. I have attached a photo of it which is marked to illustrate how we'd like to take some height off it.
