Crondall is a village and parish in Hampshire, England. The village lies on the gentle slopes of the low western end of the North Downs range and contains the remains of a Roman villa, indicating a long history of settlement. In the Domesday Book of 1086 the area was recorded as part of the Crondall Hundred. Throughout the Middle Ages, the chief manors of the parish were held by Winchester Cathedral from 975 until 1861, reflecting the historical significance of the area. In 2021 the parish had a population of 1,724, suggesting a small but established community. A large collection of Anglo‑Saxon and Merovingian coins discovered in the parish has become known as the Crondall Hoard, adding to the village’s historical intrigue.
