Lower Dunsforth, York, YO26 9RZ

Lower Dunsforth is part of the parish of Aldborough, North Yorkshire, which also includes the villages of Boroughbridge, Minskip, Roecliffe and Upper Dunsforth. The parish lies in the North Riding of Yorkshire. The River Ouse, which flows through the area, is a significant waterway in the county. Hydrologically the river is a continuation of the River Ure, and together the Ure and Ouse have a combined length of about 129 miles (208 km), making them the sixth‑longest rivers in the United Kingdom and the longest to flow entirely within a single county. The Ouse itself is around 52 miles (84 km) long, although the total length of the river system is sometimes disputed. The locality’s setting near the Ouse places it within a rural landscape characterised by the river’s natural features and the surrounding North Yorkshire countryside.
