Japanese Cedar on front boundary - selectively remove dead branches from within canopy to open up interior of lower crown; cut back previous pruning stubs closer to parent stem where they are close to the public highway. Monitor lean for progression and to help determine if the lean is due to root plate rotation or main limb subsidence; Oak and hazel trees along side boundary - remove small diameter (up to 2 cm diameter) epicormic growth that arises from main trunk as necessary; Birch in rear garden - crown reduce overall by up to 2 metres, prioritising the shortening back of the elongated growth shoots that have developed since previous pruning; Apple - selectively reduce end weight by reducing the end growth arising from the long lateral limbs by up to a maximum one metre, but preferably closer to 60 cm, and cut back to appropriate pruning points above the hedge line to prevent overhang on neighbour's garden at the rear.
