As a former civil parish now incorporated into Atworth, Great Chalfield retains a distinct village character while benefiting from proximity to the larger towns of Melksham and Bradford-on-Avon, offering a rural setting with accessible local amenities. The village’s placement in west Wiltshire situates it within a predominantly inland landscape, typical of the region’s agricultural surroundings.
