This request is in relation to a large Oak Tree on the Public Footpath that links Ogden Road and Moss Lane, this public footpath is located within the Syddal Park Conservation Area. The canopy of the tree extends over the entirety of our back garden and is close to being over the top of our house (as per attached photographs). We are worried about potential damage to our property from falling branches and over the past couple of years we have had to remove some fairly large branches from the garden. This is particularly concerning as we have young children and pets who play in the garden. We would like to employ a Tree Surgeon to cut back the canopy by at least 4-5 metres as we believe this would make the tree safe for a number of years. Note - about 10 years ago we requested permission from the Council to cut the tree back and we were advised you had no objection. We subsequently paid for this work to be completed only for a Team of Council workers to cut all the trees back on the path a few months later. It would be useful to understand whether the council have plans to do this again as the path and trees are quite overgrown. HAR/CA34, TPO 351W.
