The village lies about 4.5 miles (7 km) southwest of Thame and the parish includes the hamlets of Latchford, Little Haseley and North Weston as well as the house, chapel and park of Rycote. The parish stretches six miles (10 km) along a northeast‑southwest axis, bounded by the River Thame in the north, Haseley Brook in the south and partly by a boundary hedge with Little Milton parish in the west. According to the 2011 Census the parish population was 511. The area is characterised by its rural setting and historic features such as the Rycote estate, and it falls within the OX 44 postal district of Oxfordshire.
