Barnet London Borough Council, also known as Barnet Council, is the local authority for the London Borough of Barnet in Greater London, England. The council administers a suburban borough in north London that was formed in 1965 from parts of the ceremonial counties of Middlesex and Hertfordshire. According to the 2021 census, the borough has a population of 389,344, making it the second largest London borough by population and the 17th largest district in England. Covering an area of 86.74 square kilometres (33 square miles), it is the fourth largest of the 32 London boroughs. The population density is 45.8 people per hectare, ranking it 25th in density among London boroughs. The borough’s setting is predominantly suburban, with a mix of residential neighbourhoods and green spaces typical of outer London.
