Brymbo, situated within the postal district LL11 of Wrexham, was historically served by the Wrexham and Minera Railway, also known as the Wrexham and Minera Branch. The railway line ran between the city of Wrexham and the village of Brymbo, where it served the Brymbo Steelworks, and extended to the lead mines and limeworks at Minera. A further branch ran from Brymbo to Coed Talon, connecting with lines to Mold. The system was constructed in several stages between 1844 and 1872, while the various lines making up the system closed in 1952, 1972 and 1982. The railway’s history reflects Brymbo’s industrial past and its connections to surrounding communities in North Wales.
