This property is located in Ovenden, a village in West Yorkshire, about a mile from Halifax town centre, near Boothtown and Illingworth.
Ovenden is a village in West Yorkshire, England, situated next to Boothtown and Illingworth and roughly a mile from Halifax town centre. It is also a Calderdale Ward. The village lies within the HX 3 postal district. Historically, the area was served by the Queensbury lines, a network of railway lines that linked Bradford, Halifax and Keighley via Queensbury. These lines were owned by the Great Northern Railway and later jointly by the Great Northern Railway and the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway. The terrain was extremely challenging for railway construction, and the lines were very expensive to build. The Halifax and Ovenden Junction Railway opened in 1874, providing a vital connection for the local community. Today, residents benefit from a rural setting with close proximity to the urban amenities of Halifax, while the historical railway heritage remains a notable feature of the area.
