Oak T1 at rear of property.Cut to ground. Over mature tree that has suffered losing large parts of the structure of the crown possibly in the storms of 1987, historical failure and subsequent hard pruning have left large wounds on the main stem of this tree which are now rotting-out and compromising the integrity of its structure. The tree also has a large cavity on the leader to the N.W. at 5m height, (visible from the neighbouring garden,) although a small opening this cavity has been measured at a diameter of 55cm cross section on the leader which has a diameter of 60cm at this point, cavity also extends upward 0.2m and downward 0.6m. The pruning points in the upper crown are rotten and the tree is struggling to support this growth partly due to the inherent weakness in their unions, combined with the poor condition of the matierial present in this area. Tree to be replaced with another to compliment the tree species within this part of the conservation area.
