Little Henham, Saffron Walden, CB11 3XR

Saffron Walden Rural District was a rural district in the county of Essex, England. It was created in 1894 and later enlarged by the addition of the parishes of Berden, Birchanger, Elsenham, Farnham, Henham-on-the-Hill, Manuden, Stansted Mountfitchet and Ugley from the disbanded Stansted Rural District. The district was named after and administered from Saffron Walden. Little Henham, situated within this district, is one of the smaller communities that contributed to the rural character of the area. The district’s history reflects a long-standing agricultural and local governance tradition, with the parish of Henham-on-the-Hill (often referred to as Little Henham) playing a role in the expansion of the district.
