Newtimber, Hassocks, BN6 9BP

Newtimber is a small village and civil parish in the Mid Sussex District of West Sussex, England, situated north‑west of Brighton. The parish includes the hamlet of Saddlescombe and lies almost wholly within the South Downs National Park, except for a small section north of the B2117 road. The planning authority is the South Downs National Park Authority. The downland scarp, which includes Newtimber Hill, Newtimber Holt, Saddlescombe chalk quarry and Summer Down, is mostly part of the Beeding Hill to Newtimber Hill, designated Site of Special Scientific Interest. This setting provides a rural environment characterised by protected landscapes and natural features, offering residents a tranquil living experience within a nationally recognised natural area.
