The community includes a primary school and St Andrew's Parish Church, built in 1800, which is a category B listed building and houses the Raven Stone, a Pictish symbol stone. The parish was united with Strichen parish in 2002. Boyndlie House, dating from 1814, is a recasting of the fine 17th‑century House of Boyndlie, reflecting the area's historic architectural heritage.
