This property is located in a rural setting near Peterhead, within the AB 42 postal district, and is part of a community that was historically served by the Formartine and Buchan Railway.
Brucklay lies within the Peterhead area of Aberdeenshire, in the AB 42 postal district. The locality is associated with the former Formartine and Buchan Railway, a line that once connected the important fishing ports of Fraserburgh and Peterhead with Aberdeen. The railway was built to link these ports and had a junction with the main line of the Great North of Scotland Railway at Dyce. Opened in stages from 1861 to 1865, the line was never profitable and was absorbed by the Great North of Scotland Railway in 1866. Although the railway is no longer in operation, its historical presence remains a notable feature of the area, reflecting the region’s maritime and transport heritage.
