Craigievar, Alford, AB33 8JG

Craigievar is a rural locality in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, within the AB 33 postal district. The area is best known for Craigievar Castle, a harled castle or fortified country house that lies 6 miles (9.7 km) south of Alford. The castle was the seat of Clan Sempill and later the Forbes family for 350 years until 1963, when it was sold to the National Trust for Scotland. Residents of Craigievar are therefore close to a significant historic landmark that reflects the region’s cultural heritage.
