We founded Compass Building Consultancy in 2017 to bridge the gap between high-level technical expertise and a truly personable, director-led service. Based in the heart of York, we support property owners, investors, and occupiers across the North of England and beyond.

Our business is built on the expertise of Daniel Leaf and Aidan Sutcliffe, who both bring a wealth of experience from national multi-disciplinary consultancies.
- Daniel Leaf (Director): A Chartered Building Surveyor with over 15 years in the industry, Daniel specialises in dilapidations and technical due diligence.
- Aidan Sutcliffe (Director): Aidan oversees our Project Management arm, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects across all sectors, from education to high-spec industrial hubs.
- Joe Unwin (Senior Surveyor): Joe bolsters our team with specialist knowledge in contract administration and client care, ensuring every instruction is handled with meticulous attention to detail.
