Today there are around 800 post‑war council houses, some of which have been sold into private ownership. The area is close to junction 17 of the M25 motorway, which forms the western boundary of the village. It lies on the western fringe of Rickmansworth, about five miles west of Watford and six miles north of Uxbridge.
