Penzance lies 64 miles west‑southwest of Plymouth and 255 miles west‑southwest of London, and it is 9 miles east of Land’s End. The town is the terminus of the Cornish Main Line and is both the southernmost and westernmost railway station in England. It sits in the shelter of Mount’s Bay and faces south‑east onto the English Channel. The parish includes the fishing port of Newlyn and the villages of Mousehole, Paul, Gulval and Heamoor.
