Milton Common is part of the civil parish of Thame, a market town in South Oxfordshire, England. The town lies roughly 13 miles east of Oxford, 10 miles southwest of Aylesbury and 40 miles northwest of London. The River Thame flows along the north side of Thame, forming part of the county border with Buckinghamshire. The parish also includes the hamlet of Moreton to the south of the town. According to the 2011 Census, the parish’s population was 11,561. Thame was founded in the Anglo‑Saxon era and was once part of the kingdom of Wessex. The town’s historical roots and proximity to larger urban centres give it a distinct character as a small market town within the Oxfordshire countryside.
