Upper Brailes is a constituent of the civil parish of Brailes, a civil parish in Warwickshire, England. The parish lies about 3 miles east of Shipston‑on‑Stour and encompasses the two villages of Lower and Upper Brailes, which are situated in the north Cotswolds and are often regarded as a single village because the two villages adjoin each other. The parish also includes the village of Winderton, approximately 1.5 miles northeast of Brailes, and the deserted medieval village of Chelmscote, roughly 3.5 miles north of Brailes. The parish boundaries are defined to the east by Ditchedge Lane and Beggars' Lane, a historic ridgeway that forms part of the county boundary with Oxfordshire, and to the north-east by a minor road that follows the course of a Roman road.
