Buckholt is a small village in Monmouthshire, Wales, located some 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Monmouth, adjoining the boundary with Herefordshire, England. The village lies within the postal district NP 25. Monmouth, the nearby market town, sits where the River Monnow joins the River Wye and is two miles from the Wales–England border. In the 2011 census Monmouth had a population of 10,508, up from 8,877 in 2001. Historically the county town of Monmouthshire, Monmouth is now the largest settlement in the area, while the Monmouthshire County Council offices are at Rhadyr, just outside Usk. The town is represented in the UK Parliament constituency of Monmouthshire and in the Senedd constituency of Monmouth.
