This property is located in Wingfield, a village in Suffolk, situated roughly seven miles east of Diss and near Eye, accessed via the B1118.
Wingfield is a village in the English county of Suffolk, situated approximately seven miles (11 km) east of Diss and near Eye. It is signposted off the B1118 and lies within the postal district IP 21. The village’s name, first recorded as Wighefelda in the Domesday Book, is thought to derive from Old English elements meaning a turn or bend in the land, or possibly from the Wuffingas dynasty that ruled Norfolk and Suffolk in the 6th to 8th centuries. Wingfield was listed within the Bishop’s Hundred, later renamed the Hoxne Hundred. The settlement’s historical references and proximity to nearby towns suggest a rural setting with access to local roads and nearby communities.
