Coombe Hill is a hamlet in Gloucestershire, England, positioned between Gloucester and Tewkesbury. The locality is characterised by its rural setting, with the Coombe Hill Canal running through the Vale of Gloucester. The canal, which opened in 1796 and closed in 1876, is now a nature reserve owned by the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust. Adjacent to the canal lies a large area of wet meadowland, divided into a north and a south meadow, purchased by the trust in 1999. The canal and meadowland often flood in winter, attracting hundreds of wildfowl. The surrounding area is typical of the Cotswolds and the nearby town of Wotton‑under‑Edge, providing a tranquil rural environment.
