Very large beech tree directly in front of old vicarage. Tree has verylarge hole in the lowest part of trunk, probably caused by a secod trunk or large borgh being torn off at some stage. This large cavity has made the tree unstable and this can be seen by fibre buckling and signs of bio-mechanical stress. The tree has a very large amount of Ustilina Deusta Fungi. If when the tree falls it will cause a considerable amount of damage. The current proposal is to reduce the tree size by 50% to alleviate the weight / stress on the trunk and also to reduce damage should the tree fall.
