Albourne is a village and civil parish in the Mid Sussex district of West Sussex, England. The parish covers an area of 772.9 hectares (1909 acres) and had a population of 644 according to the 2011 Census, up from 600 in 2001. The community consists of 234 households, with 321 people economically active in 2001. The village lies just off the A23 road, three miles (4.8 km) east of Henfield, providing straightforward road access while retaining a distinctly rural character. The name Albourne derives from an alder-lined stream, which is likely to have been the Cutler’s Brook, hinting at the area's natural heritage and tranquil setting.
