Quinton, Birmingham, B32 1AG

Quinton is a suburb and ward of Birmingham, situated about five miles (8 km) west of the city centre. The area was originally part of Halesowen parish and remained a village surrounded by farmland until the 1930s, when the first housing estates were built. By 1980 most of the former farmland had been developed, yet a slice of countryside survives in Woodgate Valley Country Park, offering green space close to the urban core. Quinton lies within the Birmingham Edgbaston constituency alongside neighbouring wards such as Bartley Green, Harborne and Edgbaston. The locality’s history of gradual development gives it a mix of older village character and newer residential estates, while its proximity to Birmingham provides convenient access to city amenities without the density of the centre.
