Lindridge is situated in Devon, England, within the Teignbridge district. It lies at the head of the Teign Estuary to the west of Teignmouth. Historically, the area was the site of Lindridge House, a large 17th‑century mansion considered one of the finest in the south‑west. The mansion was located about one mile south of Ideford in the parish of Bishopsteignton, approximately 4 ½ miles north‑east of Newton Abbot. Lindridge House was destroyed by fire on 25 April 1963, and its ruins were demolished in the early 1990s, after which a housing development was built on the site. The locality is therefore characterised by a mix of historical significance and contemporary residential development, situated within the broader Teignmouth area of the Teign Estuary.
