West Hoathly is a village and civil parish in West Sussex, England. It is part of the Mid Sussex District and lies 3.5 miles (5.6 km) south west of East Grinstead. The parish covers 2,139 hectares and includes the hamlets of Highbrook, Selsfield Common and Sharpthorne. The population was 2,121 in 2001 and rose to 2,181 by the 2011 Census, with 1,150 people economically active in 2001. The settlement is an ancient hilltop village situated in the High Weald between the North and South Downs, giving it a distinctly rural character.
