The village is situated 2.3 miles (3.7 km) north‑east of Horndean and just east of the A3 road. The nearest railway station is at Rowlands Castle, 3.1 miles (5 km) south of the village. In 1931 the parish had a population of 158, and on 1 April 1932 the parish was abolished and merged with Clanfield, with part also contributing to the formation of Rowlands Castle. The locality is characterised by its rural setting and proximity to major roadways while maintaining a small community feel.
