Oakfield, Cwmbran, NP44 7HA

Oakfield is a suburb of Cwmbran, Torfaen in Wales. Construction of Llantarnam School began in 1950 and it was the first of three secondary modern schools to be built in Cwmbran New Town. The school is a notable landmark for the community. Cwmbran railway station lies in the northeast of the town centre and is within five minutes’ walking distance from Oakfield. The station is part of the British railway system owned by Network Rail and is managed by Transport for Wales, who operate all trains serving it. It lies on the Welsh Marches Line from Newport to Hereford. The station was opened at this site in 1986 to serve the commuter route to Newport and Cardiff, and shoppers to the town centre.
