On 1 April 1931 the parish was abolished to form "Asgarby and Howell". The locality is part of the civil parish of Asgarby and Howell, within the North Kesteven district. The setting is rural, with a small community historically centred around the surrounding countryside. The area remains characterised by its quiet, low‑density environment and proximity to the nearby market town of Sleaford.
