The hamlet was home to Ingmanthorpe Racing Stables, where Grand National winning jockey Richard Guest trained racehorses until his eviction in May 2021. From 1945 to 1975, Ingmanthorpe Hall served as the site of Wennington School and was designated a Grade II listed building in 1966.
