Great Dalby is a locality situated within the market town of Melton Mowbray, in the Melton district of Leicestershire, England. Melton Mowbray lies on the River Eye, which is known below the town as the Wreake. The town has a population of 27,670 as of 2019 and is situated 19 miles (31 km) north‑east of Leicester and 20 miles (32 km) south‑east of Nottingham. It is sometimes promoted as Britain’s "Rural Capital of Food" and is the home of the famous Melton Mowbray pork pie, as well as one of six licensed makers of Stilton cheese.
