Fairmile, Ottery St. Mary, EX11 1LP

Fairmile is a village that is part of the civil parish of Ottery St Mary, a town and civil parish in the East Devon district of Devon, England. The parish lies on the River Otter, about ten miles (16 km) east of Exeter on the B3174. At the 2001 census the parish, which includes the villages of Metcombe, Fairmile, Alfington, Tipton St John, Wiggaton, and West Hill, had a population of 7,692. The population of the urban area alone at the 2011 census was 4,898. In 2021 the parish had a population of 7,986. The village of Fairmile is therefore a small, rural community within a larger parish that is itself a town on the River Otter, located within easy reach of Exeter and the surrounding East Devon countryside.
