The eastern part of the beck’s catchment falls within the Appleby Fells, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, highlighting the ecological value of the landscape. A grade II listed packhorse bridge is located north‑east of Knock Pike, and the Pennine Way footpath crosses Swindale Beck on a footbridge between Dufton and Knock Fell, offering walkers scenic routes through the countryside.
