This property is located in Knock, a rural area east of the hamlet of Knock Cross, close to the town of Appleby‑in‑Westmorland.
Knock is a modest locality situated in Cumbria, lying just 1 km east of the small hamlet and farm known as Knock Cross, which itself is south of the town of Appleby‑in‑Westmorland. The name ‘Knock’ is first recorded in historical sources and the area is defined by its upland surroundings. Swindale Beck, an upland stream that rises south of Knock Fell, runs through the area and forms a boundary between the civil parishes of Long Marton and Dufton within the Westmorland and Furness unitary authority. The eastern part of the beck’s catchment falls within the Appleby Fells, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, highlighting the ecological value of the landscape. A grade II listed packhorse bridge is located north‑east of Knock Pike, and the Pennine Way footpath crosses Swindale Beck on a footbridge between Dufton and Knock Fell, offering walkers scenic routes through the countryside.
